Kristel Geyer, PharmD, BCOP, BCPS is the clinical coordinator and program director for the PGY1 community-based pharmacy residency program at Cleveland Clinic Specialty Pharmacy in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a graduate of Concordia University of Wisconsin where she received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2012) and Doctorate in Pharmacy (2014). After graduation from pharmacy school, she pursued a post graduate residency at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee. Dr. Geyer has published on the topic of the effect of pharmacist interventions on drug cost savings in the hematology/oncology setting and how pharmacists can improve overall expenditure while maximizing clinical outcomes. She designed and supervised the implementation of all needed clinical measures to secure the ASHP specialty pharmacy practice accreditation at her site and continues to lead training and education for all members of her team. She acts as authorized representative for all risk evaluation and mitigation strategy programs the specialty pharmacy participates including coordinating implementation, policies, and audits. As a member of the ASHP Specialty Advisory Group for Workforce Development for the past several years and chair in 2023-2024, she aspires to serve the pharmacy community and help develop opportunities for more robust and aligned integration of pharmacy practice for future generations to come.
