Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist / ID PGY2 Residency Program Director
Dr. Robbie Christian received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Miami VA Healthcare System in Miami, Florida and her PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, Ohio (VANEOHS). She worked in Baton Rouge, LA for 4 years as an Infectious Diseases clinical specialist and Residency Program Coordinator for a PGY1 residency program. She returned VANEOHS in 2022 where she currently serves as the PGY2 ID Residency Program Director and ID Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
Dr. Christian has dedicated her early career to pharmacy organizations focused on minoritized individuals. She serves as the past chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) and Assistant Executive Director for SNPhA (Student National Pharmaceutical Association). She is board certified in infectious diseases and HIV. One of her passions is teaching, which is evident in receiving the most supportive preceptor in 2020 and preceptor of the year award in 2021. Other interests include multidrug resistant pathogens, resolving penicillin allergies, and antimicrobial stewardship. Current research includes cefazolin use perioperatively for penicillin allergic veterans, VA wide Kicking CAUTI 2.0, and urologic procedure antibiotic use appropriateness.
