Deputy Director, Pharmacy Readiness Program

Lieutenant Colonel Joseph R. Taylor is the Deputy Director of the Pharmacy Readiness Program at the US Army Office of the Surgeon General.
He has a BSPharm from the University of Montana, and an MBA and an MHA from Baylor University. He completed a fellowship in leadership and strategy at ASHP. His military education includes the Officer Basic Course, the Instructor Training Course, the Captain’s Career Course, the Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Joint Senior Medical Leaders Course.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
His prior assignments include: Assistant Chief of Pharmacy, Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, NC; Pharmacy Consultant, US Army Medical Activity-Bavaria, Germany; Commander, Company B, 264th Medical Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Officer in Charge of Laboratory Subjects, Pharmacy Branch, and Pharmacology Instructor, Interservice Physician Assistant Program, Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Pharmacy Consultant for the US Army Medical Material Center-Southwest Asia, Qatar; and Officer in Charge of Inpatient Pharmacy, Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA.
