During her 8 years at Equitas Health, Pierce has supported the organization’s mission of serving patients at risk for or affected by HIV; the LGBTQ+ community; and people seeking a welcoming healthcare home. She has led operational and educational initiatives that elevate and empower the technician workforce and improve the efficiency and scope of technician services throughout the organization’s care sites.
Pierce has assisted in the opening of 6 new pharmacy locations for Equitas Health and Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy. She is responsible for data analysis, process implementation strategies, and for optimizing pharmacy operations to make a safer, more efficient workflow for the pharmacy. Her other responsibilities include policy and procedure development and ensuring organizational compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program and with URAC and ACHC Specialty Pharmacy accreditation requirements.
Pierce worked for a decade as a retail pharmacy technician before earning her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from The Ohio State University in 2014. She spent a year as a pharmacy technician instructor at Heritage College in Columbus and was then hired by Equitas Health. She started out as a pharmacy technician before being promoted to administrative and leadership positions at the organization.
Outside of the pharmacy, Pierce is a martial arts enthusiast who has served since 2003 as an event and ring coordinator for United States and World Breaking Association tournaments. She is currently the organization’s world and national coordinator for US tournaments.
